McMaster MSA Alumni
Allah swt has blessed many of the McMaster MSA Alumni with the means of an income. With that being said we are responsible for what we do with our wealth. Sahl ibn Sa’d reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate. About This Campaign
The charity we are working with is SOS Children's Villages, a non-religious and non-political charity that has a stellar international reputation. Additionally, it has schools, orphanages, programs in nearly every country in the world which ensures that this Campaign will be a truly global initiative. It costs $432 to sponsor a child for one year and $300 to sponsor a village. Each participant can select the location of where their contribution is directed.
Two competitions will be held through Giveffect:
1. Which faculty can raise the most money.
2. Which student club can raise the most money.
We invite you to be part of this great campus-wide initiative!

The truly good are those who believe in God and the Last Day, in the angels, the Scripture, and the prophets; who give away some of their wealth, however much they cherish it, to their relatives, to orphans, the needy, travellers and beggars, and to liberate those in bondage; those who keep up the prayer and pay the prescribed alms; who keep pledges whenever they make them; who are steadfast in misfortune, adversity, and times of danger. These are the ones who are true, and it is they who are aware of God. -Sura Al-Baqarah, Ayah 177
